Peace Poster Contest

We held peace poster contest on October 2nd, the Gandhi Jayanthi day at Lions hall, Thayineri. Children from various schools in Payyanur participated. The first 3 place winners were given vouchers to buy books/painting materials.

Family meeting - honoured film director Moham Kupleri

Family meeting was held on 28th Sept at 8 pm, at Thayineri Lions' Hall. Famous film director Sri Mohan Kupleri was the chief guest.

sponsored 15 deferentially-abled children at MRCH

We donated Rs 150,000/- to MRCH (Malabar Rehabilation center for handicapped) , a school run to help the children who need special care. We donated it as sponsorship for 15 students at Rs 10,000/- per student. District PRO Ln K Sujith handed over the donation. Dr S Rajiv, V Balan, Dr Praveen Gopinath, Lakshman Shenoy and other members were present. Ln Balakrishnan sponsored a mid day meal to the students.
The school was originally started with 2 acres of land donated by Ln Uthradam Chandran.

Honoured Sri P Appukkuttan master on teacher's day

On Sep 5th, teacher's day, we honoured Sr P Appukuttan master, a much revered teacher and social worker. PDG Dr K Damodaran and Dr Rajiv spoke facilitating him. 

Distribution of hearing aid

We distributed 25 hearing aid each worth Rs 15,000/-, in a program held at Sree Sankara Sanskrit university, Payyanur. The program was held in association with National institute of speech & hearing. Our deafness committee chairman Dr Padmanabhan was the chairman of the meeting.

Onam kit distribution at Blind's self help group

As a continuum of our various project at Ashraya Swashraya group at Madamangalam, a self help group of visuall impaired people, we gave them Onam kits this Onam season. RC Dr Rajiv S gave away the kits.

 

Zone Conference and Onam Celebrations

1st Zone conference was held on 26th August in Lions Hall, Payyanur. All 5 clubs of the zone, Payyanur, Alakkode, Sreekandapuram, Chemperi and Cannanore North participated. Cannanore North won the men and mileage award. All 5 clubs presented their activity reports, and they are going ahead full speed with their activities. They have taken up major projects for the year, aims to acheive more membership.

The meeting was followed by variety entertainments, led by Dr Padmanabhan and Dr AV Sreekumar. Lioness of Payyanur presented Thiruvathirakali. Food was sumptous Onam Sadhya.
