Swimming coaching camp is being conducted in association with Kerala Adventure Sports Promoting Academy. The program was inaugurated on 3rd August 2025 by IPDG KV Ramachandran.

Swimming coaching camp

LC Payyanur conducted 15 days swimming coaching camp for children in association with Kerala Adventure Sports Promoting Academy. 65 students attended. Governor TK Raheesh CA was the chief guest in the closing ceremony and distributed certificates. 

Swimming Coaching camp

Free scientific swimming coaching camp by LC payyanur was held from Aug 23 to Sept 7th at payyanur. 36 kids participated in the camp. 9 Trainers from Kerala Adventure Sports Promoting Academy involved. Closing ceremony on 7th September inaugurated by PDG Ln.Dr.K.Damodaran PMJF.  SAAF games swimming winner Sri.M.Padmanabhan honoured the trainers. Certificate distribution was done by Lions District Mentor and lions sports Academy chairman Ln.Dr.K.Gopinath PMJF

Cub Sreenivas Ajith Shenoy won National students badminton championship

                    

Cub Sreenivas, son of Lion Ajith Shenoy and Mangala, got selected for Asian Students Olympics in Malaysia to be held in January 2019, after winning in the under 12 catagory in National Students Badminton championship in Godhra, Gujarat.  

Swimming coaching camp conducted

We held our regular swimming coaching for children this year too, in association with Kerala adventure sports promoting association, at Alakkat Kulam. 32 children participated

we conducted a swimming coaching camp lasting 2 weeks. about 40 children participated.

Swimming coaching camp

We held a two week long swimming coaching camp for children, from July 31 to Aug 14, 2016. The camp was inaugurated by SI of Police Sri Mathew. the Adventure Sports Academy lend it's support by providing coaches Suresh Kuttmath and Jayaram. Lion V P Ramachandran was the project director and also coached the students. Veteren Sports teacher V N Damodaran was honoured during the closing ceremony and certificates were distributed to the participants.

Summer Vacation Sports Academy

Month long foodball coaching camp was held in Chinmaya school ground in April-May 2016. about 80 children participated. Lion Ramachandran and Anil Kumar were the coaches. Kerala Football team captain Sajith Kumar was the chief guest in the closing ceremony and he distributed the certificates.

Sports Academy coaching camp

Sports academy camp was held in Dec 2015 christmas vacation at Chinmaya Vidyalaya in football and badminton. about 100 students participated.

District shuttle badminton tournament held in Payyanur

District shuttle badminton was hosted by LC Payyanur on 8th Nov 2015 at Rendezvous indoor stadium. 27 teams participated. It was inaugurated by DG Lion K Sujith MJF. Program director Ajith Shenoy made sure the event was a grand success. Prizes were distributed by 1st VDG K Shivaprasad MJF. Prizes were sponsored by Lion Abdul Rahman, Lion Lakshman Shenoy, Lion Dr A V Sreekumar, Lion Suresh Kormath.

Sports Academy 2014 Dec

This year also, the Sports Academy functioning under the Lions Club of Payyanur, conducted free sports coaching camp in football, badminton and volleyball for school children between December 20th and 28th at Chinmaya Vidyalaya,Payyanur. There was a massive turnout this time, with 120 children in football, 25 in badminton and 12 students in volleyball.

   Coaching in these disciplines was done by Mr.Anil (football), Mr.Krishnan (volleyball) and Mr.Noushad(badminton). The camp was inaugurated by Sports Academy Chairman, Ln.Dr.Gopinath PMJF. Camp concluded on 27th with valedictory function graced by Payyanur MLA, Shri C Krishnan who distributed the certificates. As a follow up to this camp, select children will be given one month detailed coaching in April in football.

Free Swimming Coaching to Children

We started a free swimming coarching camp, as part of our Sports Academy camps on July 20th, in association with Payyanur Adventure Sports Academy. Sri Jayarm is the chief instructor. Sri Sushir, CI of Police inaugurated the program. The camp is for 2 weeks, for the children aged 10-14 yrs. Sri Suresh Kauttamath, Shivaraman, and Prabhakaran assist Sri Jayaram in coaching the children.

Camp was closed on Aug 3rd. certificates were distributed by Sasi Vattakkovval, Municipal Standing committee Chairman, Payyanur Municipality and Dr P V Aboobackar, President, Adventure Sports Academy. Our Special thanks to project director Lion K V Ramachandran for carrying out the camp successfully. 

Sports Academy Football camp

We conducted 3 weeks football coaching camp, in May 2014. About 50 children aged 8-10 participated. Lion V P Ramachandran and Anil Kumar coached the children. The closing ceremony was held on 22nd May, and Sub-inspector of Police Mr Sunil Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion.

Sports Academy Dec 13 camp

We conducted a 10 day coaching camp in Football, Badminton and Roller skating at Chinamaya Vidyalaya during December vacations. Roller skating academy of Payyanur helped us start a roller skating class, during the camp, which will then continue at Lions Community center on all weekends. Football was coached under Anil and Lion VP Ramachandran, Badminton under Noushad and Lion Santhosh. Sports Academy football coaching camp

We held a summer coaching camp during April- May. 28 children aged about 12 yrs participated including one girl. coach Anil and Lion Premkumar gave good training in football and physical fitness under the guidance of Lion Ramachandran. FC Kasargod coach Jixon also visited the camp.

Swimming camp closing ceremony

VDG Lion AJ Mathew was the chief guest. all participants were given swimming apparel as a compliment, and certificates. There held an exhibition by the participants, in swimming and other skills in water. coach Jayaram and Suresh Kuttamath explained the various techniques to the audience, consisting parents and the Lions.

Kicked off Swimming camp as a part of Lions Sports Academy

Lion sports academy with the help of Adventure sports academy of Payyanur has started a free swimming coaching camp for children. Dananjaya Babu, SI of Police inaugurated the program. Lion Dr Mohan Ramdas, who's also the president of Adventure sports academy, Adv Narayanan Nair, Lion VP Ramachandran who is also the secretary of Adventure sports academy, Ln Dr K Gopinath who was instrumental in carrying on the sports academy for two years, Lion Gangadharan who first proposed the project of Lions sports academy and has been it's convener ever since, Mr Jayaram, who has coached more than 25000 children in swimming, Mr Suresh Kuttamath, brother of our Treasurer Jayaraj, who has assisted Jayaram for last 25 years, were present in the inauguration ceremony.

Lions Sports Academy Volleyball Coaching camp May 2012

We conducted a volleyball coaching camp for the summer vacation in the month of May. Even in soaring heat, 60 students participated. Our coaches PP Krishnan and Kalpaka Govindan were enthusiastic as ever. They were assisted by Lion Gangadharan, secretary of Sports Academy, and a veteren volleyball player himself.

Sports Academy Valedictory function

It was held on 1-Jan-2011. VDG Ln Vineesh Vidhyadharan was the guest of honour and gave away the certificates to students.  T J Jacob, DIG of Police, CRPF Peringome was the chief guest. He was a national champion in swimming, and had represented India in Asian Games and Olympics. Sri Balakrishnan, member, sports council, Sri Maniyappan, Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, and Sri PCK Nambiar, ZC were also present.

Lions sports academy Dec'11 camp.

Kicked off a 10 camp at Chinmaya school grounds on Dec 24th. Chinmaya school Principal Vimala Raveendran inaugurated. The camp is in football, volleyball and shuttle badminton. about 150 students including 50 girls of age 12-16 from various schools are participating. To and fro bus is arranged from payyanur, for free of charge. coaches : PP Krishnan, Kalpaka Govindan , KM Sophia, Murali (volleyball) , Anil Kumar, Lion VP Ramachandran (football), Naushad (badminton).
